Client's Vision:
The client, a young woman with a deep love for blue, wanted to transform her Soviet-style home into a modern, inviting space where she could enjoy quality time with friends.
Design Concept:
To create a more open and social atmosphere, we removed the wall separating the living room and kitchen, seamlessly merging the spaces for better flow and gatherings.
Embracing the client's love for blue, we designed a striking "blue cube" within the home—encompassing the kitchen and bathrooms—where everything from walls to doors and furniture was painted in rich blue tones. Cooler lighting temperatures further enhanced the crisp, modern feel of the space.
In contrast, we introduced a softer, cozier element in the bedroom. The rectangular opening to the closed balcony was replaced with a pink arch, adding warmth and a feminine touch to the private space.
To create a relaxing outdoor retreat, we added a small swing and lush plants to the balcony, giving the owner a charming space to unwind and enjoy summer days.
Honoring the character of the original home, we preserved and restored key decorative elements, from renovated doors to the intricate metal details beneath the switches. This thoughtful balance of old and new resulted in a home that feels both contemporary and deeply personal.
